SD: As a woman entrepreneur, what challenges have you faced in the beauty industry, and how did you overcome them?
Fatima: Dealing with the retail sector! It is a wildly male-dominated space, where I’ve faced everything from ego wars to a lack of professional etiquette. I haven’t entirely overcome this obstacle, but with each passing year, I gain more wisdom and confidence as a business owner, regardless of my gender. The key is to match their energy.
SD: What do you believe are the key elements that contribute to a successful beauty or personal care brand?
Fatima: Passion, discipline, and persistence. The combination of these three traits is essential for any brand to succeed.
SD: What role does customer feedback play in your process of developing new products or improving existing ones?![](https://socialdiary.pk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/1.jpg)
Fatima: Customer feedback is pivotal, especially since the Pakistani audience is highly trend-driven. It plays a massive role in my research and development process. I strive to launch products that meet customer demand while staying true to Aura’s philosophy: keep it simple, keep it desi, and incorporate modern-day ingredients.
SD: What advice would you give to aspiring female entrepreneurs who want to break into industries that are traditionally male-dominated?![](https://socialdiary.pk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/7.jpg)
Fatima: You only need to prove yourself to yourself. Once you achieve that, you’ll naturally create space not just for yourself but also for other women-led businesses!
SD: What inspired you to pursue music as a hobby alongside your career as an entrepreneur?
Fatima: I grew up in a musically inclined family. I picked up the piano and singing from my father, learned the guitar from my brother, and never looked back. Music is a constant in my life—it’s therapy in its purest form.
SD: What type of music resonates with you the most?![](https://socialdiary.pk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/4.jpg)
Fatima: Lately, I’ve been obsessed with the local music scene. The talent and creativity are so refreshing and inspiring! Among my all-time favorites, I’d say it’s a mix of rock, trip-hop, Bollywood classics, and anything by Madam Noor Jehan.
SD: How has your passion for music influenced your entrepreneurial mindset, if at all?
Fatima: My passion for music has greatly influenced the creative aspects of developing my brand. Designing graphics, creating recipes, and fostering harmony within the business come naturally to me. After all, there’s no business without innovation.
SD: Do you see your musical hobby turning into a career in the future?
Fatima: I’m your typical bathroom singer, but I’ve been lucky enough to feature in my friend Misbah’s songs now and then. I’d be happy continuing that, as long as my vocal cords get their regular exercise. That said, never say never!
