Larkana Shaken: Specially-Abled Girl Dua Abro Dies After Alleged Assault
A heart-wrenching tragedy has shaken Larkana, where 15-year-old Dua Abro, a specially-abled girl, has passed away after reportedly being subjected to sexual assault. Dua died during medical treatment at the Trauma Center Larkana, ending a painful ordeal that began just days earlier.
Dua went missing on July 11 from her home in the Kambar Naka area of Ratodero, Larkana. Her family, especially her uncle Asad Abro, raised alarm and began searching for her immediately. The next day, she was found unconscious and severely injured near Ratodero Stadium.
Medical Examination Confirms Rape
Initial findings from Taluka Hospital confirmed the disturbing nature of the case. According to Dr. Shah Hussain Shah, Medical Superintendent, medical examination strongly indicated that Dua had been raped. The news sparked outrage across the region, leading to widespread demands for justice and accountability.
Suspect Killed in Police Encounter
Just hours before Dua’s death was confirmed, Rizwan Kaalu, the main suspect in the case, was reportedly killed during a police raid. SSP Ahmed Faisal Chaudhry stated that Kaalu was fatally shot during an exchange of gunfire—allegedly by his own accomplices—while police attempted to arrest him. His accomplices managed to escape the scene.
