Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan to Increase This Week
Fuel prices in Pakistan are expected to rise again starting July 16. Petrol may go up by Rs5.25 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) could increase by Rs6.50 per litre, due to global oil trends and higher import premiums.
What to Expect in the New Rates
Petrol could reach Rs272.04 per litre, up from the current Rs266.79. Diesel may touch Rs279.48, rising from Rs272.98. These hikes will affect transport, farming, and daily living costs across the country.
In contrast, kerosene oil may drop by Rs3.80, and light diesel oil by Rs2.25 per litre.
Fuel Taxes and Government Revenue
Despite zero GST, the government earns nearly Rs98 per litre from each sale through levies like the Petroleum Development Levy and Climate Support Levy. For FY25, the goal is to collect Rs1.47 trillion from fuel levies.
What It Means for You
