Fashion designer Maria B, known for her collections and outspoken views, sparks outrage again.
Maria B recently launched a new luxury formal ready-to-wear collection. She conducted a photoshoot at Bahawalpur’s historic sites, including Derawar Fort and the ancestral graveyard of the Bahawalpur Nawabs.
The photoshoot, where models danced in the graveyard, outraged many. Members of the Abbasi family, descendants of the Bahawalpur Nawabs, accused Maria B of misleading their staff.
Social media users criticized Maria B for her actions. One user said, “Disrespecting our ancestral resting place is offensive.”
Another questioned the appropriateness of a woman visiting a mausoleum in Islamic law.
In response, Maria B admitted ignorance about the graves and issued an apology.
