As Eid al-Azha comes closer, actor Muneeb preaches kindness to animals for this Eid and empathy to animals used for sacrifice. Sharing a video on Instagram Stories, the Shiddat star showed a camel running erratically through a crowded neighborhood.
“I looked at the CCTV footage yesterday and saw that it happened,” Muneeb preaches kindness to animals for this Eid. Young children were throwing rocks at the animal. He broke loose and started to run.”
Because of the suffering, Muneeb addressed parents and asked them to explain to their children how to respect the animals they are meant to slaughter. Many people felt that Abdul Karim was right: Animal respect is important, not just for Eid, but all the time.
One Instagram user mentioned, “Animal sacrifice is only part of the problem.” Helping our children become empathic toward all living things is important. Someone else suggested teaching kids about respecting animal rights. Empathy should begin in the family.”
People are talking more often online about how to humanely treat animals. Alizeh Shah has recently made her distress known about the way sacrificial animals are shown during Eid.
The roads are full of blood, their faces show fear, and there are many cries from all around. “It’s very upsetting to see,” she explained, and encouraged people to avoid sharing shocking images or videos online.
Alizeh said she does not disapprove of religious sacrifice, but asked that empathy be shown. Though animals cannot communicate in words, they feel emotions. They experience love and they build bonds. God created plants and animals as well. We shouldn’t share their pain by posting it as jokes or making it into trends online.
Working to celebrate more respectfully, she noted, “Islam shows us to treat both humans and animals with mercy and dignity.” If you can, think about your actions before posting anything special for Eid.”
At the end, she acknowledged her readers: “You can hold a different view, and that is perfectly fine.” But I’ve been unable to forget this, and as a result, I want to talk about it.”
The lead from Muneeb Butt and Alizeh Shah could made Eid al-Azha this year one of greater kindness and care in tradition.
