Sonu Nigam Pays Tribute to Attaullah Esakhelvi’s Influence
In addition to his remarks about Ali Zafar, Sonu Nigam also shared a touching story about Attaullah Esakhelvi, one of Pakistan’s most revered folk singers. Nigam credited Attaullah as one of his earliest musical inspirations. “He is a beautiful soul and holds great importance in my life,” Nigam said.
He revealed that his career began by singing covers of Attaullah’s timeless track Acha Sila Diya Tune Mere Pyar Ka. What made it even more memorable was when Attaullah himself called to praise Nigam’s rendition. “He called me and said, ‘Mr. Sonu, I’m Attaullah Esakhelvi from Pakistan. You sang it really well.’ That meant the world to me,” Nigam added.
