Iced Chai Latte
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes + chilling time
Serves: 4
Ingredients
2 cups water
¼ cup Darjeeling tea leaves (or 5 tea bags)
1 cup milk
1 cup low fat cream
¼ tsp green cardamom powder
3 cloves, crushed
2 black peppercorns, crushed
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground ginger
¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
Ice to serve
Method
- In a medium-sized saucepan, bring the water to a gentle boil.
- Stir the tea leaves into the water. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for five minutes.
- Add the milk, cream, cardamom, cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon and ginger.
- Increase the heat and bring to a full boil, being careful not to let the milk boil over. Remove from the heat and strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a glass/heatproof container. Stir in the condensed milk.
- Allow it to cool, then chill and serve over ice.
Mint Iced Tea
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serves: 2
Ingredients
3 tea bags of Moroccan mint tea
2 cups water
4-6 mint leaves, coarsely chopped + leaves for garnishing
½ cup lemon juice
2 tbsp sugar syrup
Ice cubes
Method
- Bring the water just to a boil and turn off the heat.
- Add in the tea bags and chopped mint leaves, and allow it to infuse for five minutes.
- Squeeze the bags to remove as much liquid as possible. Cool the tea to lukewarm and stir in the lemon juice and sugar syrup.
- Place ice cubes in two servings glasses and then strain in the tea into each.
- Garnish with mint leaves and serve.
Glorious Green Juice With Lemon
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes + chilling time
Serves: 1
Ingredients
1 banana
2 handfuls of kale leaves
Juice of 1 lemon
100 ml apple juice
½ tsp matcha powder
Ice to serve
Lemon slice to garnish
Method
Blend together all the ingredients in blender and until smooth. Serve immediately over ice cubes and garnish with lemon slice.
