SD: What initially inspired you to pursue a career in modeling, and how has your journey been so far?![](https://socialdiary.pk/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/IMG_4621.jpg)
Fatima: For me, modeling has always been about more than just physical appearance – it’s an art form. Growing up, I was fascinated by the way a single image could evoke emotions, tell a story, and capture a moment in time. I saw models as living canvases, bringing art to life through their poses, expressions, and movements. When I started modeling, I felt like I was becoming a part of that art world. Every photoshoot was a new opportunity to collaborate with creatives, experiment with different looks, and push the boundaries of self-expression.
SD: In what ways do you think your Pakistani heritage influences your modeling style and choices![](https://socialdiary.pk/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/IMG_3347.jpg)
Fatima: Growing up in a rich cultural landscape, I was surrounded by vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and a strong sense of community. These elements have instilled in me a deep appreciation for diversity and individuality. My heritage has taught me the importance of modesty, elegance, and poise, which I carry with me on set and in my style. I’m proud to be a representation of Pakistani beauty and I strive to use my platform to break down barriers and challenge traditional beauty standards. By embracing my roots, I hope to inspire others to do the same and promote cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
SD: What were the major setbacks you faced?
Fatima: Breaking into Pakistan’s fashion industry was tough. I faced societal pressure to conform to traditional beauty standards, skepticism, and nepotism. But the darkest moment was when I gained weight and faced relentless body-shaming. It took a toll on my mental health, and I felt like I’d never succeed again. However, I refused to give up. I focused on my well-being, found supportive brands and designers, and prioritized my own needs. It’s been a long journey, but I’ve emerged stronger and wiser then before
SD: What do you believe sets you apart from other models in the industry, and how do you showcase this uniqueness in your work?![](https://socialdiary.pk/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/IMG_3282.jpg)
Fatima: I’m confident and comfortable in various settings, whether its a short film, music video, or traditional photoshoot. My ability to adjust to different environments, directions, and styles allows me to bring a unique energy to each project. I’m not limited to one specific niche or aesthetic; I can seamlessly transition between different genres and themes.
SD: How do you maintain a balance between staying true to your personal style and adapting to the ever-evolving trends in the fashion world?
Fatima: I balance personal style with fashion trends by knowing what works for me and embracing new ideas that resonate. I adapt, blend, and make trends my own, staying true to myself while remaining fresh and relevant
SD: Modeling often requires resilience and self-confidence. How do you nurture your confidence and handle online trolls?
Fatima: Honestly, social media trolling doesn’t really affect me. I’ve learned to tune out the noise and focus on what truly matters. For some reason, I only internalize negative comments when they come from someone close to me, someone whose opinion I value and trust. But with strangers online, I’ve developed a thick skin. I know their negativity often stems from their struggles, and I choose not to let it impact my self-worth.
SD: Would you consider venturing into acting anytime soon?
Fatima: I would love to get into acting if I get offered a good script or role that resonates with me. I’m always looking for new challenges and opportunities to grow as a creative person, and acting seems like an exciting, new way to express myself
