Syed Noor, the legendary Director of Lollywood is back with a bold new vision. The legendary director recently revealed details about the much-awaited sequel to his 1998 blockbuster, Choorian. But this time, the story is far from traditional.
‘Choorian’ Sequel: An Unconventional Love Story
The sequel will center on a 30-year-old man. He falls in love with an older woman. The male lead is played by Essa Arsalan. He is the nephew of Pakistani cinema superstar Shaan Shahid. Opposite him is Saima Noor, a famous actress from the original Choorian era. She portrays the older woman in this unconventional romance.

Syed Noor Calls It ‘Experimental’
The director describes the project as experimental. He believes audiences have changed in the last few decades. According to Syed Noor, viewers today are more mature. They no longer take issue with unique or taboo-breaking storylines.
“I think the audience has evolved enough not to find fault with this concept,” Noor shared.
‘Choorian’ Sequel: A Legacy to Uphold
The original Choorian was a massive hit. It starred Moammar Rana and Saima Noor in lead roles. The film broke box office records and became a cultural phenomenon. Now, the sequel aims to push boundaries. It challenges age norms and traditional love stories in Lollywood.
Why This Casting of ‘Choorian’ Sequel Matters
Essa Arsalan is relatively new to mainstream cinema. But with Shaan Shahid’s backing and Syed Noor’s direction, expectations are high. Saima Noor returns to a central role after years. Her chemistry with a younger male lead will be a major talking point. The film is still in early production stages. No official release date has been announced yet.
Syed Noor is taking a risk. But he’s confident that Pakistani audiences are ready. If successful, this sequel could open doors for more age-positive and experimental stories in Lollywood.
