Fashion Designer Says Viral Letter Is Fake and Defends Islamic Values
Maria B, one of Pakistan’s top fashion designers, is facing criticism over her recent social media posts. A complaint submitted to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) accuses her of spreading hate against the transgender community.
In a clear response, Maria B stated she has not received any official notice from the authorities. She called the document circulating online “possibly fake” and expressed concern over how it appeared on social media before reaching her.
“No, you can’t scare me. I will always speak about Islam and defend the Islamic family system, Insha’Allah,” she posted on her social platforms.
The controversy started after she criticized a private event in Lahore, calling it “un-Islamic” and urging action. This led to arrests of some attendees, but a magistrate later dropped the case due to lack of evidence.

Maria B raised serious concerns about the letter going public before she officially received it. She made it clear that she will respond appropriately if a real government notice is delivered.
Despite the backlash, she stands by her religious and cultural beliefs. She insists on her right to speak about issues that she feels threaten family values in Pakistan.
Her message remains strong: she will continue defending Islamic traditions and social morals, regardless of criticism.
