Samer Khouzami

Samer Khouzami is a self-made Makeup Artist and CEO of Samer Khouzami Cosmetics from Lebanon. He founded Maison Samer Khouzami in 2011.

Please tell us about your family and background!

I have been brought-up in a very discipline atmosphere where values and principles have always been given priority. It gives me a great pleasure to give introduction to my humble family.

There are six members in my family including myself, my respected father, my mother who is a house wife. In spite of being a very family lady, she has been a great source of motivation and inspiration in my life. Apart from this I have two older brothers, and one sister. They all are loving and supporting in nature.

I graduated with a degree in graphic design in the hopes of gaining practice in the world of design. I used to iconize my mother, and she became my muse. Once I felt like it was time, I ventured into the industry, and tried to do make up for magazines and celebrities. Gradually I started having workshops from the United States to Australia and everything in between.

Tell us about your responsibilities as the business owner?

I am a very devoted person when it comes to my job. I enjoy getting involved in every single detail and this has not changed when I became a business man, in the matter of fact it evolved gradually with the brand. Our objective is to launch and market a brand that lasts, so we really listen to what women want

What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?

Being present in the business field, many consumers today has a lack of trust in brands. Therefore, being Authentic and true to our believes is our key element to attract audience from the start.

What is your brand’s fashion policy?

Makeup is a true art, you have a responsibility as an artist to sculpt and enhance a woman’s personality, and this is how you highlight her beauty. I love working on women with strong personalities, women who have had an impact on their society, their careers, and their families. Now is the time to reach all these women even if I can’t do so personally. By launching the Samer Khouzami line of cosmetics, my hope is to reach and empower women all over the world and play a small part in their journey to keep on creating their impact. Be the best version of yourself. Be confident. Know that what will make you stand out is being unique.

Tell us about your products.

At Samer Khouzami Beauty, our mission is to empower women with the best of cosmetics’ innovation encompassing quality, efficacy and safety. We use state-of-the-art equipment for liquid and crème-filling, powder pressing, loose powder filling, lipstick molding and tube filling/sealing. All our products are EU & US compliant. With the support of our international resources and a wide range of first-rate packaging suppliers, we are proud to have successfully developed a luxury makeup brand that will be an essential part of every woman’s beauty routine.

How important is your team for you?

Success is work in progress and the mastery of trusting, delegating and believing in your team to achieve the goal that we all look up to. I call my team “The Creative Team “, they truly inspire me as much as I do.

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Believe in yourself, have confidence in your talent. Never stop learning. Everyone should be determined to achieve what he or she seeks for. They can work on learning how to see the technical details and be aware of the difference between each face and the other and recognize its beautiful details.

What are your shortcuts to successfully handle frustration and success?

Time and experience will make you realize that the darkest moments are also a part of your progress. Once one has this knowledge, it helps through both frustration and success.
