This week she has some extremely important tips for PCOs, which is very common in women these days and she even comes up with solutions! So let’s see what they are:
Why and how did help with PCOs come to your mind specifically?
Three years ago, a very dear client who was diagnosed with PCOS came to my studio. When she came into my studio, she was scared that she would never be able to lead a normal life and she would never have kids. Today, she’s leading a happy and healthy life with 2 beautiful children, just because of the proper care and fitness regime that she follows!
Tell us more about her journey with PCOs and how you helped her?
Sara is just one of the many young girls with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) I’ve helped through Yoga. PCOS is a common occurrence today among women at reproductive age. Doctors believe it’s a byproduct of the stress from modern-day life.
Yoga is the safest treatment available for PCOS. Women join my yoga classes to abate symptoms of PCOS such as irregular menstrual cycle, infertility, depression, acne & facial hair growth. Yoga works much deeper than just the physical body. It helps release deeply stored stress in the system, which is the key in treating PCOS.
PCOs are related to mental and physical health. How true is it?
Until recently, the mind and body were considered independent units. However, modern science has discovered that mental health and physical health are deeply interlinked. We have to keep in mind that stress is the enemy when it comes to PSOS. Young girls who are diagnosed with PCOS often deal with frustration and anxiety. It’s necessary for them to improve their mental health to begin the healing process. Yogic pranayama (breathing exercises) and asanas have been proven scientifically to lower cortisol (stress hormone) levels in the body.
Tell us about some useful yoga poses.
Here are some Yoga poses that help with PCOS.
1. Butterfly Pose
2. Supta Badhakonasana
3. Bharadvajasana
4. Chakki Chalanasana
5. Shavasana
6. Padma Sadhana
7. Sun Salutation
I believe Yoga is the key to combat the stress of modern-day life. Even modern science has accepted the role Yoga plays in treating diseases such as PCOS and diabetes. We cannot throw away our mobile phones or quit our 9 to 5 jobs. What we can do is take out one hour of the day for ourselves. To nourish our mind, body and soul!
