Chupke Chupke
This was something different. It was light and happening. A Ramzan special drama, it had a brilliant cast, engaging storyline, and the perfectly done quotient of comedy to it which really contributed to its success. This serial was a perfect family entertainment which actually made the viewers laugh and then gave so much to feel connected to each one of them that there was a high demand for the second season as well. The friendship of Haadi and Faazi, the love story of Haadi and Mishi, it was amazing how all the characters came together and the story was in sync with good emotions.
Neeli Zinda Hai
It takes a lot of courage for drama-makers to come up with unique ideas and experiment while making a drama. Neeli Zinda Hai happens to be one such drama that is based on a fictional story with elements of reality to it. Although the drama had become slow-paced, the writer has added all the elements to Neeli Zinda Hai to make it gripping and engaging. It has been dramatized in such a manner that it actually leaves you intrigued. The story, in general, may be predictable but it’s the performances of Sonia Mishal, Jinaan Hussain, Urwa Hocane, and Mohib Mirza that convince you to tune to it every week.
Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay
So this one has definitely been one which didn’t stop us from scratching our heads. Based on a novel written by Umera Ahmed. It was the sheer intellect of director Farooq Rind which took viewers on a wild roller coaster ride. It was not your typical love triangle of cousins. It definitely held a huge surge of emotions and acted upon how a person be completely be black or white-every person has their shades of gray. With a spellbinding cast which included the dynamic duo Kubra Khan and Mahira Khan, this drama has so much to offer but yes it was at times mind-numbing to just get there.
Raqeeb Se
So this was the drama that debuted superstar Hadiqa Kiyani’s acting prowess. It was one of those rare dramas that played upon strong, female, lead characters. There was a plethora of emotions, hard-hitting dialogues, an extremely impressive range of characters and more. This was definitely a drama that hit on the different shades of women- women who are headstrong, women who are fragile, women who stand for what they believe and those who are willing to sacrifice everything for their children’s sake. It was unconventional and extremely moving, at all levels.
Parizaad
If there was one drama everyone couldn’t stop raving about, it was Parizaad. The story of a man who was born and raised in an underprivileged family, and would be mocked and ridiculed due to the color of his dark skin color. His romantic overtures are always met with rejection due to his appearance and financial status. But that is not always, for the tables turn and the fate changes for this extremely headstrong individual. If it wasn’t for the extremely talented supporting cast consisting of some of the major stars of the entertainment industry, it is the acting of Ahmed Ali Akbar which just completely swayed us away.
