Actor Khaqan Shahnawaz apologises for making fun of Ali Abdullah’s speech impediment after his video mocking the content creator sparked strong criticism on social media. The actor clarified that he was unaware that Ali Abdullah had a speech impediment when he made the comments.
The controversy began after Abdullah appeared on a Ramazan transmission and made remarks about another TikTok creator. Shahnawaz later reacted to the clip online, but his response quickly drew backlash from viewers and fellow celebrities.
What Happened During the Ramazan Transmission
Content creator Ali Abdullah recently appeared on the Ramazan show Piyara Ramzan on Express TV, hosted by Javeria Saud. During the segment, Abdullah shared commentary on several TikTok videos.
In one clip, TikTok creator Jawad World was parodying someone annoyed during sehri. Abdullah jokingly criticized the character, making remarks about the food being eaten and humorously suggesting the creator would continue experiencing “special days,” a phrase commonly used as a euphemism for menstruation. The host laughed at the remarks during the show.

Khaqan Shahnawaz’s Response and Apology
After the clip circulated online, Khaqan Shahnawaz posted a video criticizing Abdullah’s comments and mocking the way he spoke. In the video, the actor suggested that Abdullah was not in a position to make fun of others.
However, many social media users pointed out that the actor appeared to be mocking a speech impediment. Following the backlash, Shahnawaz deleted the video and issued an apology, stating that he did not know Abdullah had a speech condition.
Despite apologising, the actor maintained that Abdullah’s jokes about someone’s financial situation and menstruation were not appropriate for national television.
Celebrities React to the Controversy
Several public figures also weighed in on the debate. Actor Sabeena Farooq criticised Shahnawaz’s response, saying his remarks were wrong on multiple levels and defending Abdullah’s comedic style as part of his unique brand of content.
The controversy highlights how quickly online reactions can escalate in the digital age. While Khaqan Shahnawaz apologised for mocking Ali Abdullah’s speech impediment, the debate around acceptable humor on television and social media continues to spark conversation among audiences and celebrities alike.
