Bits & Pieces on life of Sana Javed

This week, Social Diary sat to have a chit chat session with none other than the super star and super gorgeous Sana Javed. We cannot contain our excitement so here is the whole detail about our favourite super star girl.

  1. Tell us about yourself; your background, studies, lifestyle etc.

I was studying Chartered Accountancy before I started pursuing my real passion – acting. I started off with commercials, and then started getting offers for dramas and then the big screen with Mehrunisa V Lub U in 2017 where I played the title role. Talking about my background, my family is from Hyderabad Deccan.

  1. What had you initially want to be when you grow up? Would you say this was indecisiveness or a general curiosity to try out different things?

I always wanted to be an actor. As a child, I remember dancing on Madhuri’s [Dixit] songs. I used to go inside my room and dance in front of the mirror. Today, I am what I always wanted to be – an actor!

  1. What exactly was it that you were looking for in your debut film, which Mehrunisa V Lub U finally ended up offering you?

I was looking for a good team who knew the ins and outs of their craft. The team of Mehrunisa V Lub U had already given a hit before, and they were thorough professionals. I also character of a cute and innocent girl being a catalyst for such a huge change around her attracted me to it in the first place. Overall, the film did good business, being Pakistan’s first box office success for the year so I am very lucky.

  1. How challenging and different is it working on a full feature film, as compared to Television Dramas?

Television and cinema are two entirely different platforms and as an actor you grow with each platform and project you do. Films are larger than life, and we see it on the big screen so the smallest details need to be taken into account. Having said that, in Pakistan I believe television is bigger than movies as it has more reach to the masses – while films with less than 100 screens and such expensive tickets are limited to a very small segment of the society.

  1. Is there any role that you have not been offered as yet that you wish to act?

Given that I have been in this industry for a very short time – so much left to do … I would love to act in a biopic on Nazia Hasan or a period play that depicts the pre-partition era.

  1. Your talents are truly commendable. How do you manage to juggle time between acting and personal life?

I strictly keep a balance between my personal life and work. It’s easy for me to manage because I don’t over stress about things at all. I am an introvert, and I prefer staying at home after shoots than going out. I have a few close friends that I meet on regular basis. Apart from that, I love going to the gym as I am big fitness freak.

  1. How did you make your entry into Showbiz?

I started off with commercials then automatically started getting offers for dramas. I never auditioned for any role, I have been very lucky – it’s been word of mouth.

  1. How is a normal day in your life like? What is your routine?

If I have a shoot, then the whole day is spent there – from 10am to 10pm. On my days off, I get up late and then spend time with my family, read a book or go for a movie sometimes. To sum it up, I just sit back and relax!

  1. How do you spend your free time?

Shoots keep us actors really busy so whenever I get free time, I just finish the piled up pending work or relax with the family.

  1. How do you prepare for your roles? Do you take inspiration from other characters in movies or try to get into the mindset of a character?

To be honest, I don’t take inspiration from any one. I just read the script, and understand the character. I live and breathe each character that I play. I don’t do anything to prepare for it, I just try to keep it as natural as possible.

  1. Is there any aspect of the entertainment industry that you deeply dislike?

I dislike negativity. I hate it when people use other people as stepping stone to be successful themselves, and then there are people who are never happy with other’s success. I loathe such people.

  1. Which actors/actresses would you like to work with in the near future?

I have already worked with a lot of people. There is no actor or actresses in particular that I want to work with. When signing on any role, all I focus on is the character which is the most important thing for me.

  1. To whom do you attribute your outstanding talents to? Does it stem from family?

I believe I am still in the learning process. Whatever I have learned so far, I have done it on sets! A big thank you to all the people who appreciate my acting, and have supported me throughout my journey so far.

  1. Any upcoming projects that you would like to share details of?

My upcoming project is a drama, Romeo Weds Heer. A lot of more projects are in the pipeline. When anything gets finalized, I will surely announce it.

  1. Would you say that Lollywood is progressing for the better? Or is there still a lot of work to be done?

First of all, Lollywood portrays a different culture compared to what we see now as Pakistan’s movie industry. In my eyes, both are completely different. The work has just started, there is a lot more that needs to be done. We are producing good movies right now, but we have the potential to do even better in the future.

  1. Any message for your fans?

Thank you so much for all the love and support that you guys have given me in these past few years. I hope I would also get the same support in the future. I love all you guys!
