In an interview with Social Diary, Noor discusses how she blends modern and traditional fashion, the creative process behind her content, and the challenges of staying true to her vision in the fast-paced world of digital media. She also shares her thoughts on the evolving landscape of Pakistani fashion, the role of digital platforms in shaping trends, and her future plans, including collaborations and exciting new ventures.
SD: What inspired you to start creating digital content, and how did your journey as a digital creator begin?
Noor: Honestly, it all started with a love for fashion and a desire to share my style with others. Growing up in Lahore, I was always surrounded by vibrant colors, intricate designs, and a rich cultural heritage. I wanted to showcase the beauty of Pakistani fashion to a wider audience. My journey began with sharing simple outfit posts on Instagram, and it just grew from there. Seeing people connect with my style and seek my advice was incredibly rewarding.
SD: It’s clear that you have a keen sense of style. How would you describe your fashion aesthetic, and how does it reflect your personality in your digital content?
Noor: I’d say my style is a blend of modern and traditional. I love incorporating classic silhouettes with bold prints and textures. I’m drawn to vibrant colors and statement pieces, but I always aim to keep my looks balanced and wearable. My style reflects my personality—I’m confident, adventurous, and always looking for new ways to express myself through fashion. My content is all about inspiring others to embrace their individuality and experiment with different looks.
SD: As a digital creator, you have access to a wide range of platforms. How do you decide which platform to focus on, and what sets Instagram apart for you?
Noor: While there are many platforms available, Instagram feels like the perfect fit for me. It’s a highly visual space where I can showcase my outfits, engage with my followers through stories, and share my fashion journey in a personal way. The Instagram community is incredibly supportive and interactive, making it a fun and dynamic platform to be a part of.
SD: Creating content requires a lot of planning and dedication. What’s your creative process like when coming up with new ideas for your posts and videos?
Noor: I have a process, but it’s not always rigid. Sometimes, inspiration strikes when I’m browsing a local market or spotting a beautiful design in a vintage shop. Other times, I plan outfits around upcoming events or seasonal trends. I love experimenting with different styles and finding ways to make each look unique. My goal is always to create content that feels fresh, authentic, and engaging.
SD: What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a digital creator, and how have you overcome them?
Noor: Staying consistent and keeping up with the ever-changing digital landscape can be challenging. It often feels like there’s always a new trend or platform to learn. But I focus on creating content that feels authentic to me, and I’ve learned to be okay with taking breaks when needed. Staying connected with my community, listening to their feedback, and evolving my content based on what resonates with them has helped me navigate these challenges.
SD: You have a large and engaged following. What advice would you give to aspiring digital creators who are just starting out?
Noor: My biggest advice is to be yourself and stay true to your vision. Don’t try to copy others—focus on what you love and what makes you unique. Be patient, build your community organically, and don’t be afraid to experiment. Most importantly, have fun! Creating content should be enjoyable, so make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons.
SD: What are your thoughts on the future of fashion in Pakistan, and how do you see digital platforms playing a role in its evolution?
Noor: Pakistani fashion is going through an exciting period of growth. We have incredible talent and creativity, and many young designers are pushing boundaries and redefining traditional fashion. Digital platforms are playing a crucial role in this evolution by providing a global stage for Pakistani designers and brands to showcase their work. These platforms also connect consumers with the latest trends and styles, making fashion more accessible and dynamic. I’m excited to see how this continues to shape the industry.
SD: Do you have any plans to collaborate with brands in the future? If so, what kind of brands or causes are you most passionate about?
Noor: Absolutely! I’m particularly interested in collaborating with brands that promote sustainability, ethical production, and support local artisans. I’m also passionate about initiatives that empower women and promote education. Staying true to my voice while navigating the pressure to constantly create new content is important to me. To maintain authenticity, I take breaks when needed, reflect on what truly inspires me, and remind myself why I started this journey in the first place.
SD: Digital creators often wear many hats. Aside from content creation, what other aspects of the digital world do you enjoy exploring, such as photography, writing, or video editing?
Noor: I love exploring photography and video editing. These skills are essential for creating engaging content, and I enjoy the creative process of capturing images and telling stories. I also stay ahead of trends by observing the fashion world, both locally and internationally. While I follow fashion blogs, magazines, and social media accounts, I always filter trends through my own perspective. Rather than blindly following them, I use trends as inspiration to create something unique.
SD: Looking ahead, where do you see your digital presence evolving? Are there any exciting projects or ventures you’re planning to dive into in the coming months?
Noor: I’m excited to continue growing my digital presence and exploring new ways to connect with my audience. I’m planning to launch my own online shop, where I can showcase my favorite finds and collaborate with local designers. Additionally, I want to create more educational content, sharing style, beauty, and self-expression tips. There’s so much more to explore, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me!
