The Punjab Police has released new funds for children with disabilities, offering crucial financial relief to police employees whose children require ongoing medical and rehabilitation support. In a significant welfare move, the department has doubled the monthly stipend to Rs20,000, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive employee welfare.
Punjab Police Releases Welfare Funds for Children with Disabilities
According to an official spokesperson, Rs720,000 has been allocated for the welfare of children with disabilities, particularly those living with cerebral palsy. Under this initiative, 24 children received Rs30,000 each to help families manage treatment, therapy, and daily care expenses.
Long-Term Financial Support for Families
The spokesperson shared that during the previous year, Rs76.56 million was distributed for the welfare of police employees’ children with disabilities. Over the past three years, the cumulative assistance has exceeded Rs166 million, reflecting sustained institutional support.
Leadership Focus on Inclusion and Care
Punjab Police Chief Dr. Usman Anwar stated that all available resources are being utilized to enhance treatment, rehabilitation, and overall quality of life for children with disabilities. He emphasized that while police personnel continue their 24/7 service to citizens, the department remains equally dedicated to supporting its workforce and their families.
