Fawad Khan’s Return to Music Sparks Controversy on Pakistan Idol
Fawad Khan, once the heartthrob rockstar of EP (Entity Paradigm) and now a celebrated actor, has made a surprising return to music—but not in the way fans expected. As a judge on Pakistan Idol Season 2, alongside Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Bilal Maqsood, and Zeb Bangash, Fawad is back in the spotlight. But not everyone is impressed.

Humaira Arshad Doesn’t Hold Back on Fawad Khan’s Role
Veteran singer Humaira Arshad is calling out what many are whispering behind closed doors: “Fawad Khan shouldn’t be judging singers!” On Hina Niazi’s show, she bluntly criticized Fawad’s qualifications, suggesting that just being a celebrity isn’t enough to judge vocal talent.
“If a contestant asks Fawad to sing a Taan, he won’t be able to deliver,” she said. “This is a singing competition, not a celebrity showcase.”
Is Fawad Khan Just a Pretty Face for Sponsors?
Arshad hinted that Fawad’s inclusion might be more about brand endorsements and star power than actual musical credibility. While his EP days give him some background in music, critics argue that his limited classical training could hurt the integrity of the show.
This debate isn’t new in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, but with Pakistan Idol bringing in raw talent from across the country, the pressure is on to ensure judges are qualified to nurture the next big star.
