With a unique flair and unwavering confidence, Nayab Yasir embodies her style as a true expression of her artistry. As a model and digital personality, she effortlessly commands the camera. In a society where fashion can still raise eyebrows, Nayab gracefully transforms it into an avenue for embracing authenticity. Here are highlights from our interview:
SD: What is your mantra for handling the trolls?
Nayab: I practice a lot of self-validation and rarely pay attention to what somebody says about me. Life is too short to focus on what somebody’s got to say about you. Just do your thing, and the world will follow.
SD: As a model, how do you create your online persona?
Nayab: For me, modeling and creating art with photos is not just about having an aesthetic sense but also living it. I have an aesthetic set up in my head that defines me and I see the world through my lens. I find what appeals to me and make art with it and brands that resonate with my vision find it beneficial to work with me.
SD: What are your absolute 3 fashion accessories?
Nayab: I like keeping my fashion accessories simple and to the point. A delicate pendant with matching studs would be something you’d always see me wearing.
SD: How would you rate the progress of the fashion industry in Pakistan?
Nayab: Fashion isn’t just clothes, it’s your statement to the world. In Pakistan, breaking the mold can feel taboo, but that’s where the real magic happens. Despite the naysayers, there are those who dare to be authentic, embracing their true selves fearlessly. Let’s celebrate the bold ones who shine through the noise!
SD: Would you ever consider venturing into the world of acting?
Nayab: I’m a terrible actress but I’m always challenging myself to do more things in life! I feel like being a shy person always comes between me and my acting skills (if there are any ).
SD: Do you feel there is way too much competition in the digital world now?
Nayab: Competition only exists if you let it occupy your mind. Secure in yourself, there’s no need to fret over rivals. It’s all about confidence and owning your path.
SD: What are your aspirations for 2024?
Nayab: I aspire to embrace my flaws and to love myself for who I am in 2024. I’ve always been hard on myself and I just want to feel loved. The kind of love you can offer to yourself is unmatched. It’s unconditional and enough.
