Sachin Ganesh Chandwade was a rising Marathi actor from Undirkhede village in Parola taluka of Jalgaon district, Maharashtra. At just 25, he was already making his mark in both the entertainment and technology industries.
Alongside acting, Sachin worked as a software engineer at an IT Park in Pune, balancing his day job with auditions and film shoots. His commitment and passion for cinema earned him recognition in regional film circles.
He rose to fame for portraying Pintu in Jamtara Season 2 on Netflix, a popular crime-drama series that released in September 2022. He also appeared in the Marathi short film Vishay Close, which was screened at the International Cultural Artefact Film Festival.
Sachin was set to appear in his first feature film Asurvan, directed by Sachin Ramchandra Aambat, in which he played the character Soma. The film’s release was reportedly just weeks away before his untimely passing.
The Tragic Incident: Cause of Death
According to reports, Sachin Chandwade died by suicide on October 24, 2025, after being found hanging from a ceiling fan in a room on the upper floor of his home in Undirkhede village on October 23.
Family members discovered him and rushed him to a nearby hospital, and later to a facility in Dhule as his condition worsened. Unfortunately, despite treatment, he passed away around 1:30 AM on October 24.
As per a preliminary police statement, no suicide note was found, and the Parola Police Station registered the case as an accidental death. The reason behind his suicide remains unknown, and investigations are underway.
Reactions from Colleagues and Fans
News of Sachin’s death has shocked the Marathi entertainment industry.
Director Sachin Ramchandra Aambat, who helmed Asurvan, expressed grief on social media. In Marathi, he wrote,
“Soma, what you did was very wrong.”
Actress Pooja Moily, his Asurvan co-star, also reshared the news of his demise, adding broken-heart emojis and describing him as a “kind soul gone too soon.”
Fans and colleagues have flooded social media with tributes, calling him a talented, humble, and hardworking artist whose career had only just begun.
