Petrol prices in Pakistan are likely to increase from July 1st, 2025 in the upcoming fortnightly review due to volatility in the global market.
The federal government will announce the new petrol prices tonight (30th June 2025), and they will remain in place from July 1st till 15th, 2025.
Reports said the average diesel price increased by 10 percent to $87 per barrel and petrol price by 5.8% between June 16th and June 30th due to recent Isreal-Iran conflict that had sparked fears of oil supply disruption.
Furthermore, the government has approved imposition of Rs2.5 per litre on petrol and diesel in wake of carbon levy, starting from 1st July 2025. The announcement was made in this regard while presenting the federal budget for fiscal year 2025-2026.

Reports claimed that the petrol price is expected to move up by Rs13.68 per litre, taking the new price to Rs272.29 while the diesel prices are expected to increase by Rs18.06 litre to Rs280.65 from 1st July.
