Speculation is mounting that Donald Trump could visit Islamabad to finalize a peace agreement with Iran. The news comes as diplomatic efforts intensify following a first round of talks that ended without a deal.
Trump Hints at Second Round of Talks
US President Donald Trump has suggested that “something could be happening” in the next two days. In a phone interview, he indicated that a second round of direct negotiations is likely. Initially, Trump mentioned Europe as a potential venue. However, he quickly changed course, favoring Islamabad instead.
Why Islamabad for US-Iran peace Talks?
Trump specifically praised Pakistan’s leadership. He cited Field Marshal Asim Munir’s role in regional stability. “He’s fantastic,” Trump said, adding that Pakistan’s involvement makes it the preferred location for dialogue.
First Round of US-Iran Peace Talks in Islamabad Concluded Without a Deal
The initial “Islamabad Talks” were historic but inconclusive. High-level delegations from the US and Iran met in the Pakistani capital over the weekend. The US delegation was led by Vice President JD Vance. The Iranian side was led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf. Despite nearly 21 hours of negotiations, the two sides failed to reach a final agreement. The main sticking point remains Iran’s nuclear program and uranium enrichment.
The world is hoping that this time the US-Iran Peace talks will have a viable solution. As apposed to violence and hard power. All eyes are on Islamabad to decide the fate of world war 3.
