The biggest thing you can do for yourself is realize and embrace your fiery energy. Look at what comes to you naturally and own it. Fashion model ‘Sameeha Saeed’ may be new to the industry but she is one to stand out in her distinctiveness and fiery passion to make things happen for her. Not to mention she is doing so while pursuing to become a lawyer as well. Her story is one which shines the light on being persistent and steadfast towards your goals. For it is only you, who can create barriers or you who can make your story one to be talked of for many years to come. Let’s get to know more from the new talent on the block:

SD: Share with our readers a little about your childhood home and school life ?
Sameeha: Growing up, I always had the companionship of my cousins and brothers. My school, Karachi Grammar School, kept me super busy all the time. With after school games, urdu and math tutorials- subjects I was always trying to work on in kindergarten and junior school, since they were my weak point. I would then be picked up by my father, who always came in a lawyer attire straight from court. Can’t forget the Black raybans and suit. He was my hero. We would stop by at a nearby store to buy me snacks before going home for lunch. My parents spoilt me from a young age! From the love of my family to grandparents, my childhood was warm and wonderful.
SD: When did you first think you were meant for the glam industry?
Sameeha: To be honest, It’s something many people have told me I can do. Upon finding the time to myself, in quarantine, I debated whether it was worth giving a try.
SD: Any major setbacks you had to face while trying to make your presence felt?
Sameeha: None at all. Once Tabesh reached out to me on Instagram when I wanted to start, it worked out quite well!
SD: Surely you didn’t take it as a full-time gig considering you are also a lawyer- how did you decide that you will strive into two very different fields?
Sameeha: I’m currently not a practicing lawyer as of yet. Though modelling is something I see myself continuing in the near future. Nonetheless I cannot wait to be a lawyer and begin my practice in the coming years! I’m most excited to finally start working and gain that experience to ultimately work at the family law firm.

SD: Which of the duo is more satisfying to you and why?
Sameeha: Law. Modelling is fun, though I’d opt for a stable 9 to 5 than a sporadic timeline of work. I’m more of a corporate personality as is (lawyers will get the pun here). There are times when I have a shoot every day, and I’m working extreme hours from six in the morning till ten or even eleven at night. I guess a break here and there is necessary; though I would much rather prefer a simple desk job at times!
SD: How would you consider our fashion industry as been progressing?
Sameeha: Being quite new to this industry, it would be hard to say. Though from my own experience so far, when I cut my long hair short, I noticed the lack of shoots I was receiving. Further, when I later dyed my hair pink, which I absolutely loved, I received next to none. To say the industry is progressive, might be a slight overstatement; perhaps at this point in time.

SD: Do you feel nepotism or favoritism exists and limits the opportunities for those with actual talent?
Sameeha: I think everyone with actual talent will be able to make it as a model, keeping in mind a set criteria of height. Favouritism may exist, though it doesn’t bother me. I’m not one to be in competition.

SD: Has 2022 been turning out as you wished for it?
Sameeha: That’s an interesting question; I think I’ve been working more hard than I’ve been having fun! Vacay is needed right about now… I can’t wait for the winter holidays.
SD: Would you ever consider venturing into acting anytime soon?
Sameeha: Nope
