Zarmeena Ikram is a starlet determined to leave her mark on the big screen. Renowned for her roles imbued with depth and her impactful modeling projects, she is a formidable presence! In an exclusive interview with Social Diary, she provided insights into her career decisions and discussed how she manages to balance her professional commitments with her personal life.

SD: How did you venture into the world of acting and modeling? Was it something you always aspired to do, or did you stumble into it unexpectedly?

Zarmeena: I’ve always been passionate about modeling, though I never planned to pursue it. Life’s circumstances led me into the field. Acting, for me, emerged naturally as a by-product of modeling.

SD: Pakistani dramas are known for their compelling storylines and strong characters. What drew you to the particular dramas you’ve been a part of, and what challenges did you face portraying those characters?

Zarmeena: I was able to embody the characters I played because I had encountered similar individuals in my real life. Each role felt familiar, drawing from my personal experiences and the diverse people I’ve met. This connection allowed me to bring authenticity and depth to my performances, making each character come alive on screen.

SD: A role that remains very dear to you and one character you feel you could have played better if given the chance again?

Zarmeena: I loved Samiya Mumtaz‘s acting in ‘Meri Zaat Zarre Benishan‘. It is one character that is dear to me. And I do not think anybody can do justice to that character except for Samiya Mumtaz.

SD: As both an actress and a model, how do you navigate the different demands of these two industries? Are there any similarities or stark differences between the two?

Zarmeena: There’s a difference between both the fields yet with some similarities. It’s about finding balance whilst working in both fields. Both nails down to definitely having a good fashion sense.

SD: Can you share any memorable experiences from your journey as an actress and model? Perhaps a particularly challenging role or a fashion show that stands out in your memory?

Zarmeena: I have fond memories of the HUM Showcase 2017 fashion show, where renowned models from around the world participated. Unfortunately, no fashion show of that caliber has taken place since.

SD: Social media has become a powerful tool for actors and models to connect with their fans. But it has also led to immense trolling. How do you handle the negativity?

Zarmeena: The best approach is to manage your profile in a way that maintains your privacy while ensuring appropriate post settings. This involves carefully selecting what personal information you share, using privacy settings to control who can see your posts, and regularly reviewing and updating your security preferences. By doing so, you can enjoy social media while protecting your personal information from unwanted exposure.

SD: A rumor that hurt you the most and how do you overcome it?

Zarmeena: None

SD: Pakistani dramas often tackle important social issues. Have you ever been part of a project that addressed such issues, and how do you think entertainment can contribute to societal change?

Zarmeena: In real life, many significant events go unnoticed. I would like to see more positive, motivational content that promotes the progress of our society and helps us become better human beings. This includes stories that highlight acts of kindness, celebrate achievements, and inspire others to contribute to their communities. By focusing on uplifting and constructive messages, we can foster a culture of empathy, understanding, and continuous improvement.

SD: Balancing personal and professional life can be challenging, especially in the demanding world of showbiz. How do you maintain a sense of balance and well-being amidst your busy schedule?

Zarmeena: I make it a daily habit to practice yoga and meditation, finding time each day to center myself and improve my physical and mental well-being. In addition, I prioritize eating nutritious meals that support my overall health and energy levels. Embracing positive thinking is also crucial for me, as it shapes my mindset and approach to daily challenges, fostering a more optimistic outlook on life.

SD: Lastly, share your fitness tips that have served you well.

Zarmeena: Let your body, soul, and mind breathe. Make exercise your daily routine.
