Driven by passion and commitment, actress Sana Nadir Shah has been garnering praise for her outstanding acting abilities. She credits her early immersion in the world of entertainment to her mother, Farha Nadir, whose influence shaped her own journey in acting. While Sana acknowledges that her entry into the industry may have been easier compared to others, she emphasizes that it doesn’t guarantee stability. In an interview with Social Diary Magazine, she candidly discusses the ups and downs of acting and the challenges it entails.
SD: What initially drew you to the world of acting and specifically to the drama industry?
Sana: Becoming an actress has been a lifelong aspiration of mine, deeply rooted in my admiration for my mother, Farha Nadir, who herself is an accomplished actress. Watching her pursue her passion only fueled my own desire to follow in her footsteps and pursue my dreams in the world of acting.
SD: What challenges have you faced in pursuing your acting career?
Sana: Throughout my career, I haven’t encountered significant obstacles, but being constantly compared to my mother has always presented a unique challenge.
SD: Can you share a memorable experience or moment from one of your recent acting projects?
Sana: During my time working on Mannat Murrad, there were many scenes set in the kitchen. Faiza Gillani and I would often take breaks between scenes to prepare something to eat. That was one of my most memorable recent experiences.
SD: How do you prepare for emotionally intense scenes in your roles?
Sana: I always think about my father when I do emotional scenes. I was 18 when I lost him.
SD: You received major acclaim for your role in Mannat Murad- Which one of your co-stars you had the most memorable time with?
Sana: Mizna Waqas treated me like a younger sister. Whenever I fell ill, she would take care of me. Our bond is incredibly strong.
SD: What do you find most rewarding about portraying different characters on stage or screen?
Sana: Satisfaction! I always look for different roles because I like challenges. And I also want to improve my acting skills.
SD: Are there any particular actors or actresses who inspire you or whose work you admire?
Sana: Saba Qamar is my idol. She’s a brilliant actor, and I’ve always admired her.
SD: Is it true nepotism exists in this industry?
Sana: Yes, it’s true. I won’t deny that a lot of the work I’ve received has been because of my mother. I haven’t faced as much struggle due to opportunities arising being her daughter. However, it’s also true that if you don’t give your best, nobody will cast you. Moving forward in your career is ultimately in your hands, not anyone else’s.
SD: What advice would you give to other aspiring actors who are just starting in their careers?
Sana: Be punctual and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times. Leave your personal problems at home and focus on your work when you’re at the workplace. Act authentically and be true to yourself. Above all, patience is key. That’s the essence of it all!
SD: Can you tease any upcoming projects or roles that your fans can look forward to seeing you in?
Sana: My current project is “Mehroom” by GEO Entertainment. You’ll have to wait for news on my next project.
