Style is what defines her winning persona. Having been the face of major brands and campaigns, Sabrina Naqvi has such fiery energy to whatever she takes on. Being passionate about modeling ever since she was a little girl, she continues to make her mark through her craft and while speaking to Social Diary, this glam girl also shared how she wouldn’t shy away from acting if the right projects come her way. Read on to know more about her future plans while we take a peek into what it was like in her childhood days!

SD: Kindly share a little about your childhood and what was it like growing up in your household?
Sabrina: It has definitely been amazing. You can say I have enjoyed the perks of living in a joint family system, so every day was entertaining. There are just so many memories there and I am blessed to have been part of such a close-knit family.
SD: When did you feel you wanted to join the glam industry?
Sabrina: The world of glam always fascinated me from a very young age. To tell you the truth, I actually wanted to be a model since I was a kid. It was a spark within me that wanted to shine and I knew if I was committed, nothing could get in my way.
SD: How did you take on your first project?
Sabrina: When the first project came to me, it seemed surreal. I was extremely excited as I knew my dreams were coming to realization. But the reality hit me soon and I felt nervous about going. Thank god I had my mother by my side, who is my pillar of strength and assured me everything would work out perfectly.
SD: Was the experience what you expected it to be?
Sabrina: To be honest, I thought maybe I will be feeling completely out of place and will face my share of the uglies, considering I’m a newbie. However, it was such a pleasant experience. Everyone was kind and allowed me to feel comfortable.
SD: Any major setbacks you faced?
Sabrina: I would have to be honest and say that there weren’t many problems that came my way. No complaints. Surely it hasn’t been all that super peachy but I have to say that things have also not been hard or rough in any way.
SD: Are there any other passions you are also pursuing along with modeling?
Sabrina: To be honest I am interested in getting into acting as well. The drama industry is definitely progressing at such an impressive scale. I would like to be a part of it. However the only thing which is holding me back is that there is a lot of Urdu that needs to be learned for the same. But let’s see…you never know how things will advance.

SD: Your views on acting and working in films and dramas?
Sabrina: It’s amazing. Pakistan’s pool of talent is impressive and now everyone is completely committed to their craft. I am absolutely looking forward to it and would love to see myself sharing screen with such mega artists of our industry. Be it the drama industry or film industry.
SD: Do you feel there is healthy competition or does nepotism exist?
Sabrina: I feel there is the existence of both. Competition is there as there are so many talented folks who have a great portal to express their talent and express themselves in such fantastic ways. However it is true that maybe some people have better access through stronger connections.
SD: How do you handle trolling?
Sabrina: My way of handling trolling is simply by not caring. See, there are those who will support you and show their love towards your craft. But, it is quite possible that you will come across a clan of negative boosters who are on the mission to just pull you down. You know what makes them lose? When you don’t respond to their sheer negativity.
SD: Do you feel social media is to be used with caution or is it a major industry to utilize nowadays?
Sabrina: The fact of the matter is that everything has its setbacks. That doesn’t mean you should stop using it completely. So you need to find constructive ways of fighting against the barriers. Social media is probably one of the biggest realities of today’s time. There is no denying its existence. So make the most of it. Let your talent shine through one of the most competitive platforms out there.
SD: How do you feel you wish to conclude this year?
Sabrina: So far this year has been progressing just as I want it to. I have had new beginnings and new realizations. It has made me the person I am and I have surely learned a lot. Blessed for every moment that I have had till now.
