Concerns over Imran Khan’s health in jail have intensified after reports emerged about his deteriorating eyesight. The PTI founder Imran Khan, currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail, was examined by a specialised medical board following claims of vision loss in his right eye. A team of senior eye specialists examined Imran Khan on February 15 inside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. The board included Prof Dr Nadeem Qureshi of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and Prof Dr M. Arif from PIMS Islamabad.
According to the report, Imran Khan’s vision has improved significantly with treatment. His right eye showed 6/9 partial vision with glasses, while the left eye recorded normal 6/6 vision.
Eye Tests, Diagnosis and Treatment Plan
Detailed examinations revealed resolving macular oedema and retinal haemorrhages in the right eye, while the left eye remained healthy. Optical Coherence Tomography confirmed improvement in retinal thickness.
Doctors prescribed medicated eye drops and noted that anti-VEGF therapy had already helped restore vision.
Despite political controversy, the doctors’ report on Imran Khan’s health in jail confirms steady recovery and no immediate cause for alarm.
