S.D Can you share your journey from being crowned Miss World Pakistan to becoming an actress? What motivated you to pursue both paths?
After being crowned Miss Pakistan World 2020. I saw it as an opportunity to represent my country and advocate for causes I care about, like animal rights. Being Miss Pakistan was a huge responsibility. As I was seen as a representative of the nation. My interest in acting began in childhood, and after becoming Miss Pakistan. I started receiving acting offers. This led me to move to Karachi and work on various successful projects such as “Sitam,” “Oye Moti,” and “Woh Pagal Si.” Currently, I am involved in several dramas, including “Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum” and “Sirat-e-Mustaqeem.” I enjoy both my roles as Miss Pakistan and as an actress, and I plan to continue pursuing both paths.

S.D How has your experience as Miss World Pakistan influenced your acting career and the roles you choose?
As Miss World Pakistan, the experience hasn’t significantly influenced my acting career due to the limited understanding of such titles in Pakistan. The audience’s acceptance of roles is constrained. Leading to fewer options, often revolving around traditional characters like mother-in-law or daughter-in-law. I enjoy playing strong negative characters, finding them powerful and versatile. Despite having talent for various roles, I’m currently facing limitations in script diversity. My favorite role so far has been an investigation officer in the movie “Dhai Chaal.”
S.D What challenges have you faced in the entertainment industry, and how have you overcome them?
The drama industry often overlooks the potential of supporting actors to transition into lead roles. Despite their popularity and success in side characters. This creates a challenging environment for actors who have garnered recognition. As demonstrated by the appreciation received for their projects like “Ek Pagal Si Ladki” and “Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.” While actors face various challenges like trolling and criticism. The difficulty in breaking through to lead roles remains a significant concern.
S.D As a public figure, how do you handle the pressure of expectations from fans and the media?
As a public figure, handling the pressure of expectations from fans and the media is challenging due to high demands. However, I believe I manage it well by fully immersing myself in my roles, like my current character. Bubbly, in “Inteqam,” where I’ve transformed my appearance and voice. Meeting these expectations is tough. But dedication to my craft often leads to positive feedback from fans and the media, validating my efforts.

S.D Can you tell us about a role that has been particularly meaningful to you and why?A particularly meaningful role for me was as an investigation officer in the film *Dhai Chaal*. This character was significant because it was out of the ordinary compared to the typical roles I often play, such as simple or villainous women. The experience allowed me to delve into a unique personality and learn about the psyche behind it, which was enriching. Additionally, my background as a shooter enabled me to incorporate real skills into the role, making it even more personal and impactful.
Another meaningful character was Natasha in the drama *Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum*. Although I have played similar roles before, this character resonated with audiences and went viral due to my subtle and natural portrayal. Both characters, for their diversity and depth, have left a lasting impression on me.

S.D What message do you hope to convey through your work in films and television?
The message I aim to convey through my work in films and television is that good intentions. And pure deeds ultimately lead to victory. Regardless of the hurdles faced, those who act with kindness and integrity will reap positive outcomes. While negative characters meet unfavorable ends. I strive to choose projects that communicate meaningful messages. Emphasizing the importance of honesty and righteousness, as I believe that media can greatly influence audiences.
S.D How do you balance your personal life with your professional commitments?
Balancing professional and personal life can be challenging, especially in a career that involves collaboration with others and requires full team presence. To manage this, I work intensively for extended periods, often putting in over 12-hour days, and then take significant breaks to focus on personal well-being and spend time with family and friends. This method helps me fulfill work commitments without neglecting my personal life.
S.D What are some of the causes or social issues you are passionate about, and how do you use your platform to support them? The main social issues I am passionate about are animal rights and women’s safety. As an animal rights activist and ambassador for the JFK Animal Rescue Shelter, I advocate for voiceless animals and promote awareness about their welfare. The shelter has a system for rescuing animals in distress, and I urge people to seek help instead of harming them.
Currently, I am also focusing on women’s empowerment, particularly in self-defense. Given the rising number of rape cases in our country, I believe it is crucial for women to receive education on self-defense techniques and weapon handling. I advocate for training programs in educational institutes and awareness campaigns on social media to empower women. It is important for everyone to understand that self-defense knowledge is not only for men; women should also be equipped to protect themselves. Overall, both issues highlight the need for advocacy, education, and support within our communities.

S.D Who are your biggest inspirations in the acting world, and how have they shaped your career?
My biggest inspirations come from my family, particularly my mother and elder brother, who have taught me resilience and the importance of staying focused on my goals despite negativity. In the acting world, I look up to figures like Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai, not necessarily as direct role models but as examples of hard work and patience. I believe that while it’s important to learn from others’ journeys, each person must carve out their own unique path. Overall, my family’s support and the lessons I’ve learned from the challenges in the industry shape my approach to my career.

S.D What advice would you give to young girls who aspire to follow in your footsteps, whether in modeling, acting, or other fields?
To young girls aspiring to succeed in modeling, acting, or other fields, my key advice is to never give up and to have patience and faith in Allah. Stay focused on your goals despite challenges and distractions. Surround yourself with positive people and invest your time in creative pursuits rather than unproductive activities. Continuously work on improving yourself and learning. It’s important to stay motivated, absorb positivity, and learn from negative experiences without allowing them to discourage you.
